Congressional ethics

Standards for Public LIfe
   Even after the lobbying scandal in the U.S. Congress their is not one member calling for an independent ethics committee.   When the British House of Common has an  independent committee called the standards of public life.  As well as all other parliamentary Democracies in Europe have an  independent body for the conduct of M.P.    Why does the U.S. congress thank that they are above having to be accountable to the public.     The American people deserve a congress that has transparency and  accountability.      We must demand the highest standards from our representatives.

Public Diplomacy

 Public Diplomacy

 My Fellow Americans,

  Never before in U.S. history has its image been at such a crucial state of affairs.  During the Cold War years the U.S. funded such programs as the German Marshal Plan to help rebuild Europe after the Second World War. As well as broadcast Voice of America to  the Communist Countries in Eastern Europe.  These programs contributed a great deal in promoting Americas democratic values all over the communist regains of the world.  Now that America is in a very unpopular war, little attention has been given to public diplomacy programs.  America now must work to improve its image abroad, or it could forever remain a county at risk.  One of the best ways to improve its image abroad would be through a new global diplomacy corps, much like the German Marshal Plan.  This program would send newly minted doctors to poor and needed nations to provide medical and humanitarian assitance.   This would change the kind of reaction the rest of the world has to America,
